Tai Chi has been used in China to achieve superior health for hundreds of years. High-level masters of the art live to well over 100 years and are in remarkable shape, exhibiting the flexibility of youth. The movements of Tai Chi are smooth and soft, yet powerful. Not only do the forms strengthen muscles and bones, they increase immunity and promote circulation. Tai Chi forms balance the Yin and the Yang, reducing stress and calming the mind, establishing a peaceful emotional and spiritual balance. Modern science has proven that Tai Chi practice can increase balance and flexibility leading to a reduction in the type of falls that lead to broken bones and fractures in the elderly.

Recently, a physical education scientist in China observed that over half of all women have breast disease; he also observed during a study of female adult Tai Chi instructors that only 1 percent of that group had any adverse breast issues.

Dr. Don Zhang of China Health Center in Austin has practiced Tai Chi since his youth and was privileged to study for many years under renowned martial artist Master Yang Jin Gui. His decades of experience led Dr. Zhang to serve as a judge for international Tai Chi competitions. Through years of practice and his research of women’s physiology and pathology, combined with his extensive clinical experience, Dr. Zhang has assembled this series of Tai Chi forms specifically to address and improve women’s health issues.

Dr. Zhang’s Women’s Health Tai Chi is based on traditional Tai Chi forms and focuses on common health issues facing women today, such as hormone imbalance, osteoporosis, breast diseases, and other gynecological issues. Dr. Zhang’s forms are elegant and easy to learn with clear and beneficial results.
